Variable V=shaped location device - has adjustable side wall and provides noiseless collation for rolled steel bars

Long tubes or bars from a rolling mill are placed on an inclined transfer table. Horizontally adjustable VEE-locations at the lower end of the table are provided to collate the oblong objects into bundles. The rear wall on the VEE-location is formed by a horizontally movable plate which is mounted on a roller frame. As the number of objects increases, the VEE-location is slowly increased in width so that the rods sink to the bottom of the location without producing excessive noise.
