Straight and/or spiral flights connect different floors. The end sections of the curved steps which face the narrowest step width are rounded in a convex shape. The harp string type staircase is made of concrete or stone. Steps (12) of the straight section and/or spiral section are mounted, on the wall side on the stairwell walling (4-6), or on this and on the eye of the stairs, and on quadrilateral tubes, in a harp section (8); or on hanger bars in a harp section, or on a vertical panel (5). This permits adaption to different plan shapes, using only a few different standardised elements, and with no steps too narrow for comfort.
