<p>The filler rod or similar filler material is fed into the welding zone via unspecified appts. driven by a motor. A photoelectronic element is exposed to the light emitted by the arc. and feeds a signal to an amplifier and/or a relay employed to actuate an on/off switch, so the motor is only fed with electric current when the arc is burning. In the pref. appts., the photoelectronic element is pref. mounted on the protective eye shield used by the welder, or it may be located at a stationary position. The handle on the eye shield is pref. fitted with two switches employed to connect or disconnect the photoelectronic element. Filler rod or wire is only fed into the welding zone when the arc is burning.</p> |
