The problem intended to be solved involves separation of heavy metals from the drain water. This problem is solved with an arrangement in which forced sedimentation is accomplished by centrifuging. The described arrangement contains a rotary vessel 1 with essentially circular cross section. The upper open end of the vessel is configured with an edge 2 projecting radially inward for a certain distance. The inward radial extent of the edge determines the quantity of water contained in the vessel upon rotation. Furthermore, elements 9 are arranged to supply the drain water at the upper end of the vessel and a motor 30 is arranged to rotate the vessel for centrifuging of the drain water.
