PURPOSE:To make possible to maintain ultrahigh contrast and the stability of a negative image with a developer having a low pH by using a silver halide photographic sensitive material contg. a hydrazine derivative and a specified compd. in an emulsion layer or an another hydrophilic collidal layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive material providing a silver halide emulsion layer on a supporting body, and containing the hydrazine derivative and the compd. shown by formula I in the emulsion layer or the another hydrophilic colloidal layer, is developed with a developer having pH of 11.0.-9.6. In formula I, Y is a group capable of adsorbing silver halide, X is a divalent linking group contg. an atom. such as hydrogen or carbon atom. or its atomic group, A is a divalent linking group, B is amino or ammonium group, etc., (m) is 1-3, (n) is 0 or 1. Thus, in the photosensitive material contg. the hydrazine compd., the image having the ultrahigh contrast can be obtd. by developing the material with the developer having pH of 11.0-9.6, and the photographic performance of the photographic material can be stably maintained by using a stable developer. |
