摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical fiber base material having desired refractive index distribution by applying rays of light in the same direction as a glass forming starting material spraying direction and measuring a position on which the rays condense on the surface of a glass fine particle sintered body to stabilize the form of the body. CONSTITUTION:Burner 2 of concentric multiple tube structure and laser beam source 9 are set on burner moving stand 10, and laser beams 11 emitted from source 9 are passed straight through the central spray outlet of burner 2 in the same direction as a glass fine particle 13 spraying direction and condensed on a position where particles 13 adhere to growing surface 7 of glass fine particle sintered body 5. The condensed position and the form of body 5 are then measured with position measuring unit 12, and by finely moving stand 10 according to the position signal particles 13 are allowed to adhere to a desired position. |
