The low pressure expansion turbine has a rotor (3) fitted onto a shaft running in ball bearings. The impeller is overhung at one end of the shaft. The rotor is fitted with a number of blades equally spaced on the rotor. The casing cover fits over the rotor and is bolted to the rotor housing around the outside. The fluid is admitted to the turbine through an inlet nozzle (6) perpendicular to the shaft and is expelled through an orifice (8) level with the centreline of the shaft.
