摘要 PURPOSE:To enable focusing up to a secure focusing position by judging whether a lens system is positioned on the shortest-distance side or infinite-distance side within a focus driving range and driving the lens system to the limit position, calculating the quantity of driving up to the focusing position from said quantity of driving and range finding and exposure information, and then driving the lens system. CONSTITUTION:Focus position information which is transmitted successively through a storage means 23 is inputted to a CPU 25, it is judged whether the information indicates the shortest-distance side or infinite-distance side within the focusing driving range of the lens system, and the photographic lens system is driven temporarily to the limit position in the judgement direction through lens driving means 27 and 28 according to the judgement information. A detecting means 24 detects the quantity of lens driving up to the limit position, range finding arithmetic processing based upon the detection result and pieces of range finding and photometry information 21 and 20 is carried out to calculate the quantity of driving up to the focusing position of the lens system, and the lens system is driven with its driving signal. Consequently, even if the lens system shifts in position under an external influence, focus driving is properly and accurately performed corresponding to the range finding information to obtain a secure focusing state.
