A device for enabling a witness to reproduce the image of an unidentified flying object comprises an optical binocular system with two separate viewing paths. One path enables one edge of the witness to view a scene, where he saw the object, through a polarised filter (4) for varying the light received from the scene. The other path enables the other eye to view, through an adjustable objective (9) magnifier, a slide (11) with a suitable image representing the object. The slide (11) is illuminated by red, green and blue light sources (R, V, B) whose individual and overall intensity is variable. The device when located at the witness' original viewpoint is adjusted for correct azimuth and direction by suitable controls and the colour, intensity, brilliance and location and movement of the slide image (11) adjusted to reproduce what the witness saw. The adjustments are recorded automatically on a paper roll (25) by servo-driven pens (76).
|
