Identifying the three dimensions of the brick as length x width x thickness, the length of the brick is equal to twice its width. The brick is made with a multitude of regularly sized holes right through its width, at right angles to the major faces of the brick. When the bricks are stacked in overlap, right-angled bond arrangement, a percolating filter is obtd., suitable as a base for a bacterial bed. The major faces of the brick should be specially flattened so that they can be bonded in a stack without using mortar.
|
