<p>Process for transforming solid combustible prds., partic. agricultural by-prods. into solid and gaseous fuels of high calorific power consists of subjecting the solid combustible prods. to a pyrolysis, to recover a coal of high carbon content and a pyrolysis gas. Pyrolysos gas is then cracked to improve its calorific power and to provide a gas of high energy value. Appts. comprises a furnace incorporating a high temp. chamber and a pyrolysis chamber, a pyrolysis tube in the pyrolysis chamber and a cracking tube in the pyrolysis chamber and a cracking tube in the high temp. chamber. By-products are upgraded in value by conversion to gaseous and solid fules of high calorific power, partic. important in developing countries poor in energy sources. Existing processes converting by-prods. to constructional materials require a large infrastructure and binding materials which are not always available at the place of prodn.</p> |
