<p>Facile guiding of wires fed into the continuously formed tube from vertically fed metal strip, as well as uniform rate of charging magnesium oxide powder as insulation fill, are achieved in the cable former. The cable sheath (1) is formed by bending the metal strip until is closes into a tube with a seal weld. The sheath (1) surrounds the powder feed tube (4) which features wire guides (2, 3) for keeping the correct spacing between the cable being formed. The spacing between the guides (2, 3) is controlled by a plate of appropriate shape which contributes to homogeneity of powder distribution. The filled cable is then subject to roll reduction and stress relieving.</p> |
