PURPOSE:To ensure that an auxiliary speed change gear can be brought into a low- speed stage holding range by amnual switching when a driver does not need automatic shift of the gear, and to return a control system to an automatic speed change range when a vehicle is stopped. CONSTITUTION:With a manual switch 56 depressed during operation in an automatic speed change range, contacts 59 and 60 are interconnected electrically, a flip- flop circuit 62 generates a ''0''-signal, and an OR gate 65 feeds a ''0''-signal to an AND gate 47, so that in this condition the gate 47 always generates a ''0''-signal irrespective of the control signal fed from an arithmetic controller 40, and an auxiliary speed change gear is brought into a low-speed stage holding range. With a vehicle restarted after stoppage, a ''1''-signal is fed from the controller 40 to the circuit 62 through an edge circuit 63, and the gate 65 feeds a ''1''-signal to the gate 47, to return the gear to an automatic speed change range. |
