PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of picture quality and the damaging of needle electrodes by providing a cleaning device near the needle electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An air suction pipe 8 as a cleaning means is disposed between a charger 7 and the needle electrodes 201 of a needle electrode part 2, with its opening 801 being approached to the surface of a recording body 1 in the position just before the needle electrodes 201. As a result of this, the air on the surface of the recording body 1 just before it is moved to the needle electrode part 2 and in the spacing near the same is sucked by the air suction pipe 8 in the image recording process and the cleaning function in the intrinsic cleaning part 6 is compensated just before the application of charge patterns, whereby the residual toner which has failed to be cleaned, floating toner fine powder, paper dust of transfer paper, cleaning brush fine powder, etc. are removed and the intended object achieved. |
