<p>A speed indicator theoretically capable of indicating air speeds up to the speed of light using a computer in combination with several different types of measurement transducer and new drive systems operates independently of the ambient medium and physical conditions e.g. temp. It has an operating life compatible with space vehicle requirements e.g. involving tens of years. The flying speed is calculated by the computer (2) from five constants and a parameter of a new drive system type, the total flying machine wt., the earth or planet acceleration or deceleration and its duration and the air or gas resistance in the earth or planetary region. Their speed original is passed to the speed display (1). A second disply shows the corresp. final value of the acceleration or deceleration acting on the flying machine.</p> |
