The tyre removing aid for a wheel fitting equipment has a curved shoe (17) driven at an angle into the side wall of the tyre to press it from the wheel rim, while the whole wheel is clamped in a horizontal position on the equipment. The shoe is driven from the underside by servo-rams. The curved profile of the shoe provids an even pressure without damaging the tyre. The angular entry of the shoe does not damage the alloyed wheel rim and does not strain the mounting. The shoe slides over the wheel rim in its swivelling movement. It hs a curved abutting edge and a curved upper surface. |
