The synthetic foam package is block-shaped, and has a recess of the dimensions or shape of the object, which is to be protected against impact or shaking. Gross-cuts (13, 14) esp. perforation cuts are evenly distributed over the surface of the block (10) and extend over its complete height. The cuts are parallel and extend across each other at right angles, but may be at an acute angle of pref. 45 deg. to the sides of the block. One or more webs may be located between the cuts and crossing points.
