The fireproof housing is for an open fireplace, having a double-walled casing (1) with water circulating between the inner and outer walls (2, 3) in a space connected by pipes (11, 12) to the central-heating system of the house. It can have an ash opening (7) in the bottom (6), and one for smoke (5) at the apex (9) of the top part, which is of trapezium section.
