BRIQUETTING OF IRON ORE AND SPONGE IRON FINES

Ore fines separated from the lump of pelletized feed to a direct-reduction iron-making furnace are mixed with at least part of the iron fines from the reduction process and with water, kneaded and formed into agglomerates. The agglomerates are allowed to undergo oxidation, which enables the hardened agglomerates to be charged into the furnace together with the original feed material.
