A security card, for example a credit card, cheque guarantee card or an identification card, comprises a panel (2) for receiving a signature of the bearer. In order to prevent tampering with the panel (2), it is embedded in plastics material preferably formed by bonding together top and bottom layers (3, 4) and a core layer (1).
