The workpiece (2) carrier (7) is intended for moving the workpiece to a number of successive machining stations. It comprises a table (38) with a number of stops (39), which fix the level of the work relative to the table, clamps (41) to secure the work on the table, and screw, e.g. bolts(29) for tightening the clamps. Each clamp consists of an L-shaped lever which is pivotable on the table about a horizontal axis(42). The vertical portion(45) of this lever engages the workpiece whilst the horizontal portion(46) is engaged by a vertically guided tensioning plate(47) common to all clamps.
