PURPOSE:To weld coloring material of powdered resin on the surface of an article as a pattern, by spreading the coloring material of powdered resin on the surface of a mold or the article to be patterned, and then pressing projections of the mold onto the surface of article with application of heat. CONSTITUTION:Mold 1 having projections 1a disposed to conform to a pattern to be developed, functioning also as welder electrodes, is earthed and a coloring material of powdered resin 2 charged positively is spread on the top surfaces of projections 1a. Then, placing article 4 to be patterned on lower electrode 3 and placing mold 1 on the article 4, portions of electrodes 1a are heated by passing current therethrough applying pressure to the surfaces of article 4 to be patterned, whereby a pattern is welded on the surface of sheet-like article 4. Here, it is also possible to spread powdered resin at the portions on the surface of article where projections of mold 1 come into engagement and then to heat the projections of mold 1 while applying prossure to the article. EFFECT:Pattern imparted onto article 4 according to the above method is high in its bonding force and has a high resistance to separation, since the portion of pattern itself is securely welded onto the surface of the article. |
