The appts. has a revolvable turnatable (2), a plurality of angularly spaced extending barrels (7a-7h) made of wire mesh with respective rotation axes (6), each of the barrels having a batch of parts and a painting station (12). There also are a setting station (13), a baking and drying-station (14) and a cooling station (15). Thus a batch of parts introduced into the barrels (7) is painted by passing each of the barrels via each of the stations while each barrel is rotated on its axle (6) as the turntable (2) is intermittently revolved by a single pitch equal to the angular spacing between mutually adjacent ones of the barrels.
