发明名称 Non-woven textile fabrics and the manufacture thereof
摘要 <p>867,946. Fabrics composed of adhesively united yarns. ROMANIN, B. Jan. 26, 1959 [Jan. 25, 1958], No. 2696/59. Class 140. A non-woven textile fabric comprises a first set of longitudinally arranged yarns and a second set of yarns arranged in undulating non - intersecting parallel paths, spaced apart transversely of the first set of yarns and in a plane parallel thereto, which cross the paths of the first set of yarns, the yarns of one set being bonded to the yarns of the other set where the paths cross so that the two sets of yarns are secured relative to one another. Yarns of any natural or synthetic material may be used, e.g. cotton, silk, flax, jute, wool, spun viscose, spun acetate, polyamides, polyesters, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl chloride, vinyl copolymers, acrylic, olefinic, polyethylene, polypropylene and glass. The yarn may comprise short fibres or continuous filaments. Bonding may be effected autogenously by heat and/or pressure, or by use of an adhesive. Specified adhesives are rubber latex, epoxide polyester resin, vinyl resin, natural gum and glue. As shown (Fig. 1B) four sets of yarns 11, 12, 13 and 14 unwind from beams 11<SP>1</SP>, 12<SP>1</SP>, 13<SP>1</SP> and 141 respectively. Yarns 11 and 12 pass through stationary combs 15 and 15<SP>1</SP> and yarns 13 and 14 pass through movable combs 16 and 161 which latter have a reciprocating movement as indicated by arrows in Fig. 2. Yarns 11 and 12 have a straight rectilinear motion. Yarns 11 are displaced with respect to yarns 12 and movable yarns 13 and 14 pass between them (Fig. 3). When all the yarns pass between rollers 18, 18<SP>1</SP> they are pressed together so as to become engaged as shown in Fig. 4. Rollers 18, 18<SP>1</SP> besides pressing and drawing the yarns may also serve to apply an adhesive material from trough 19. Alternatively, the adhesive may be applied .by cylinders 20, 20<SP>1</SP>. Due to the combination of the advancing motion imparted by rollers 18, 18<SP>1</SP> and the alternating motion of combs 16, 16<SP>1</SP>, the two yarn sets 13 and 14 become laid out in undulating paths approximately of sinusoidal shape as shown in Fig. 2. Thereafter the resulting structure is dried in oven 23 and may then be vigorously rolled by rolls 24 (Fig. 1A) whereby the different sets of yarns are forced substantially into a common plane, and finally wound on beams 26, 261.</p>
