Improvements in the process of metallisation of ceramics

A ceramic body is metallized by applying a coating of molybdenum by a sintering process and coating the molybdenum with a layer of rhodium. The molybdenum powder may be mixed with manganese powder or a mixture of powdered manganese and a borosilicate glass may be interposed between the ceramic and the molybdenum as a flux. The rhodium may be applied by electroplating and a layer of nickel or copper may be applied to the rhodium layer.
