PURPOSE:To form a toner layer of an even thickness and obtain the images free from uneven development and of high accuracy by roughing the surface of an elastic body constituting the surface layer of a developing roll. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an elastic body 1 constituting a developing roll R is roughened and the elastic body 1 which does not contain any additives oozing onto the surface with lapse of time, such as liquid plasticizers, liquid vulcanizing agents and liquid vulcanization accelerators is used. In this case, the surface roughness of the elastic body 1 is made 6S or more. Hence, there is no more slip of the roll R and toner layer 5 and the even toner layer 5 which does not readily peel and has a sufficient thickness may be formed. |
