PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of complex ignition timing characteristics by introducing a quantity of air corresponding to the engine operating conditions after adjusting the negative pressure of a negative pressure source to a fixed pressure and applying a negative pressure signal to the control of the ignition timing. CONSTITUTION:A pressure regulator 20 does not perform pressure regulating operation while the negative pressure P1 in the suction manifold 10 is low, and keeps the negative pressure P1 at a fixed value over the almost entire range of variation of the negative pressure P1. A suction air control means 30 introduces air into a manifold 40 and mixes a controlled quantity of air with the fixed negative pressure P2 of the pressure regulator 20 to produce a negative pressure signal P4. An ignition timing control means 50 controls the ignition timing of the internal combustion engine corresponding to the negative pressure signal P4. |
