A crane with constant balancing has a tower construction and a number of boom or crane component parts arranged on it between its bottom and top parts. On the boom parts there are moveable parts 62, 114, and a lift mechanism is arranged on at least one of the carts 62. At least one other cart 114 carries a counterweight 138. The lift cart or travelling carriage and the counterweight cart are driven on the respective boom parts by means of a hydraulic system or the like, which is partially manual and partially automatic, depending on the downwardly directed movement on the boom for adjustment of the counterweight cart in a load balancing position and for continuous adjustment of the counterweight in relation to the load, so that constant balancing is achieved. In modified embodiments, the counterweight cart moves in a horizontal plane at a vertical distance from the plane where the travelling carriage or lift cart moves. <IMAGE> |
