<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a master cylinder in which a large capacity of oil can be supplied to a brake cylinder with a light stepping on the pedal by a method wherein the rod of the piston oil chamber of a large diameter moves into oil chamber of small diameter and a small piston for closing and opening a check valve is equipped in the above-mentioned rod. CONSTITUTION:When a pedal D is stepped on, a piston 5 goes right through a push rod 4 and oil in oil chamber 8 of large diameter is supplied to a brake cylinder through the 1st oil conduit 9, a check valve 10, an opening 18. Therefore, when the brakes are energized and hydraulic pressure rises up to an assigned value, the hydralulic pressure given by the piston of a small piston rod 16 exceeds the compression of a spring 17 and the rod 16 moves to the left. Consequently the check valve 10 is closed and then only oil in oil chamber 3 of small diameter is supplied to the brake cylinder by the stepping-on of the pedal D through a plunger 6.</p> |
