<p>A device for converting foreign matter in water (esp. faecal matter in effluents) into a harmless product, using a biological culture disposed over a large surface area, has a conversion tank (1), with an inlet (2) an outlet (3), which contains a number of tubes (8) with walls (5) pierced with openings (4); the tubes are carried by wheels (11) which rotate so that the tubes can be completely submerged in the water and then completely emerged. The tubes are filled with water-insol. material with a very large surface area; and accessible both to the air and the water to support the growth of bacteria.</p> |
