PURPOSE:To improve work efficiency by cutting or grinding a fixed work for obtaining a spherical surface by means of a tool turning both around the work and on its axis. CONSTITUTION:A work M is fast fixed not to be rotatable. A tool T with a tip 13 is fixed at the top of a tool shaft 12 to be turned both around the driving axis of rotation and on its axis with a number of rotations greater than that around the driving axis of rotation. When a tip 13 is applied to the work M, a cylindrical hole is cut out by the rotation of the tool T around its axis as being shaped into a spherical surface S by the orbital revolution of the tool T. The size of the spherical surface S is determined by the cutter diameter and projection of the tool T, and the cutter projection is selected properly. |
