PURPOSE:To use effectively transmission energy by making a pulse repeat frequency high in case that the atmospheric beam is directed to an elevation range near the ground surface and by making the pulse repeat frequency low in case that the beam above is directed to an elevation range separated from the ground surface. CONSTITUTION:The transmission pulse repeat frequency is made high in case that the beam is directed to lower angle ranges No.1-No.4 in the vertical direction, and this frequency is made low in case that the beam is directed to ranges other than lower angle ranges, and this frequency is made high in case that the beam is directed to the direction of a designated specific target even if the range of this target is outside lower angle ranges. Radar energy can be utilized effectively under conditions where targets of a small radar reflection area exist in lower angle ranges and targets of a large radar reflection area exist in all vertical ranges or ranges other than lower angle ranges. |
