In order to illustrate movements in so-called optographic demonstration tables or demonstration models, the latter contain a transparent screen (1) which is arranged at the very front and seen by the viewer and, arranged therebehind, transparent picture surfaces (7) which can be illuminated by means of lamps (2) and on which different picture fragments (5, 6), which supplement one another by overlapping, of the desired representation are recorded. In the arrangement shown here, the picture movements are achieved by lateral displacement of an illuminated picture surface (7) with respect to the fixed screen (1), while in another group of arrangements optical movement effects are achieved by cyclic switching on and off of the illumination of individual, inherently stationary picture surfaces. <IMAGE>
