A compound of formula I is prepared from a compound of IV. The meaning of the symbols X and Y is given in Claims 1 and 2. According to a first process, the compound IV is reacted with a pyridyl isothiocyanate and the product obtained is cyclised. According to a second process, the compound IV is reacted with sulphuric, hydrobromic or hydrochloric acid in order to replace the OH group by, respectively, hydroxysulphonyloxy, bromo or chloro. This compound is reacted with carbon disulphide to produce the corresponding thiazoloisoquinolinethione which is then reacted with the Y-substituted aminopyridine. The products obtained are useful especially as antiulcer medicaments. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
