METHOD OF PRODUCING LIME SLAG PERFORATED BRICKS

Plasticisers are added before compressing initial mixtures of slag flue ash and Ca(OH)2 for perforated lime slag brick prodn. Suitable plasticisers are alkyl sulphonates, org. phosphates and phthalates, sulphite waste liquor, in 0.1-0.3 wt.% w.r.t. CaO proportion of initial mixt. Filling and compacting properties of compsns are improved enabling cavities of bricks to be increases, and resulting in lighter bricks of same compressive strength.
