Method for packaging semi-finished products made from metal alloys and application of this method for packaging a reel of aluminium-based rod wire

In order to package the rod wire on a reel, a cover of shrinkable polyethylene is placed over the reel, the reel/cover assembly is passed into an oven in order to shrink the polyethylene and a mixture of polymerisable products in the form of rigid synthetic resin foam is sprayed onto the shrunk polyethylene. The thickness of the foam layer thus formed is preferably between 1 and 5 cm.
