Explosive forming and workpiece deformation plant - absorbs energy by using ice chips which are melted by heat of condenser of refrigeration plant

Articles are mfd. from sheet metal by detonating an explosive charge which forces the metal to conform to the shape of a die. The excess energy of the explosion is absorbed by a mixture of water and chips of ice. After the explosive forming of an article the mixture of water and ice slides down a chute into a tank where the remaining ice is melted by a heater coil. The water is then pumped back to a refrigeration plant for re-conversion to ice. The water from the condenser of the refrigeration plant is used in the heater coil and so conserves energy.
