<p>Durable antistatic properties are imparted to fabrics of synthetic polymers such as nylon and polyester by forming on said fabric a water insoluble reaction product of a melamine formaldehyde resin with certain ethoxylated quaternary ammonium salts and amine compounds. A urea formaldehyde resin can optionally be included as a third component of the reaction product. In a preferred embodiment, the fabric having the reaction product thereon is washed with a solution containing an anionic surfactant.</p> |
