Rake bridge for sewage clarification or settling tanks etc. - where floats and/or travelling pillars permit cross=section of bridge to be reduced

The bridge may also be used for other tanks, e.g. for flotation processes, and is fitted with one or more floats, and/or pillars mounted on trolleys running on the bottom of the tank. The floats and/or moving pillars support all or part of the bridge so the width or cross-section of the bridge can be reduced w.r.t. conventional bridges. The floats and/or pillars are pref. fitted on pivots mounted on the underside of the bridge and allowing the floats or pillars to swivel only in a vertical plane. If pillars mounted on trolleys are used, the trolleys are pref. fitted with small deflector ploughs so stones etc. on the bed of the tank do not jam the trolley. The lower wt. of the bridge saves mfg. and transport costs.
