<p>A regular rectangular array of solar cells 10 is mounted on a support 11 comprising a plurality of elongated discrete parts 20 extending parallel to each other, and transversely to the columns of cells of the array, each discrete support part 20 comprising a conductor 23 extending along the length of the support part. A plurality of spaced conductor portions 30 are partially punched out of each support part 20, and bent, each bent conductor portion connecting a pair of adjacent cells 10 in a column of the array in series, the bent conductor portion 30 being bonded to a contact 13 on a major surface exposed to incident radiation of one of the two cells 10, whilst an unbent conductor portion is bonded to a contact on the opposite major surface of the other cell, and each conductor 23 connects in parallel within the array each of the pairs of cells 10 which it also connects in series. <IMAGE></p> |
