A security seal for bonded goods containers has the two ends of the sealing tape provided with stamped holes to locate over the stub end (10) of a sealing plug (4) inserted into the hollow seal housing (8). The tape ends are inserted via a slot in the side of the housing and the plug pushed in from the open end of the housing. One of the holes at least is star shaped and grips behind a recessed head of the plug. This prevents the plug from being prised out without damage to the sealing tape.
