Magnetic proximity switch with U=section housing - has magnetic system embedded in injection moulded housing with positioning members providing securing during moulding process

The switch is for motor vehicle washing installations, concrete mixing plants, lifts etc. and can be exposed to heavy mechanical vibrations or corrosive environments. The houseing (1) is of non-magnetic cast material giving a transverse U-shaped profile. A magnetic system is embedded in plastics in one shank while in the other shank a switching system with a sealed reed contact i similarly located. In the gap between the two shanks can be inserted a magnetic flux changing switch. In the injection moulded housing is embedded a magnetic system (9) with positioning elements ensuring its proper location during injection moulding. These elements are pref. inserted into holes formed in the housing wall which may receive recesses in the permanent magnet. The latter may be formed by grooves on both narrow sides of the latter.
