PURPOSE:To improve a stability property of a vessel, by a mechanism wherein openings are provided at a portion which is positioned above the waterline of a strut of a half-submerged vessel when steaming, and the vessel is submerged until the waterline crosses the openings when it comes to, whereby an area at the waterline of the strut is reduced. CONSTITUTION:The constitution of a half-submerged vessel E is such that an upper structure 2 is installed on a sumberged object 1 through the medium of a strut 3. At least one or more opengins 4 are provided at an upper portion of the strut 3, i.e., at a portion above a normal waterline L. When the vessel comes to, the vessel is sunk until the waterline thereof crosses the openings 4. This causes a waterline area of the strut to be reduced, and results in changing a natural period of the vessel when it comes to. Furthermore, this results in checking the synchronization with the wave cycle, and permits the improvement, without a sharp damage of a sailing performance, of a stability property of a half-submerged waterline at the time when the vessel comes to. |
