<p>PURPOSE:To convert unstable substances present in slag into stable ones by the procedure in which high-temperature converter slag grain clumps are charged into an enclosed container and then atomized water is supplied into the container from the other side so as to generate high-temperature water vapor by the heat of the slag. CONSTITUTION:The high-temperature solid crushed slag 1 is transferred to the slag-housing container 13, and then the container 13 is put in the pressure container 11. Then, the container 11 is enclosed by the sealing cover 12. When cooling the slag 1 slowly by sprinkling water from the sprinkling nozzle 14, the water is vaporized into high-temperature water vapor by the heat of the slag 1 while being passed through the slag 1, and the water vapor converts unstable substances present in the slag 1 into stable ones; that is, CaO+H2O Ca(OH)2, for example. The overheated vapor thus generated is taken out of the vapor outlet pipe 23 and then used directly as power, etc. Thus, excellent reforming of the slag 1 into excellently reactive slag can be attained without the need for vaporgenerating source.</p> |
