[Also in Division E2] A cable release connector comprises a pair of tong-like members which can be secured to the shutter housing, the tong jaws defining between them a recess which can accommodate the end piece of a cable release, the said end piece being retained in the recess by resilient means urging the jaws together. As shown, the connector is in the form of a tongs-shaped member having two jaws 6, 8. Jaw 6 terminates at its lower end in a tapered bushing 7 which fits into the connecting nipple 5 on the shutter housing. The other jaw 8 is pivoted, and biased by a spring 12 about this pivot. At their upper ends, the two jaws form a tapered insert opening for the en'd piece 9 of a cable release 10; as this is pushed in, jaw 8 turns against the spring loading, until the end piece 9 is in sufficiently far for shouldered portions 11 on jaws 6, 8 to drop in place behind it. The pin 13 which acts as the transmission element then extends downwards just into contact with the shutter release 14. The connector can be adjustably mounted on the shutter panel 1 by means of a nut and screw arrangement 15, 16. |
