The invention concerns a furnace for isostatic hot pressing, which incorporates a pressure chamber 2 which can enclose a gas under high pressure, and an insulating casing 23 placed in the pressure chamber which casing encloses a furnace space 22. At the base of the furnace space 22 there is a heater 29 in an area which is separate from the processing space itself. Heating elements 28 are placed in the central part of the said separate area, reckoned vertically. The spaces 65,66 in the heater 29 beneath and above the heating elements 28 are connected to a column between the heater 29 and the insulating casing via openings 58,59 at separate points around the periphery. <IMAGE> |
