PURPOSE:To easily form a bicolor image with superior registration by using ink containing a cross-linking material and a coloring agent which color tone changes by application of thermal and electric energy, and selectively applying heating and energization. CONSTITUTION:Ink 2 is stored in a container 3 and becomes viscous, if a specified energy is applied. Consequently, of an ink transport roller 1 rotates, the ink 2 is transferred in a constant layer thickness to the surface of the roller 1 by a coating means 5. The ink 2 formed in a laminated form shows a change in color tone, if thermal energy is selectively provided to the ink by an energy application means 10 in accordance with an image signal an image 2a with changed color and viscosity imparted is formed. When electric energy is selectively given, an image 2b with only viscosity imparted is formed. The ink image 2a, and ink image 2b are transferred to the surface of an intermediate transfer roller 15 and then are transferred to a recording medium 40 between the roller 15 and a transfer roller 30 following the rotation of the roller 15. |
