At this time, the aperture 91 of the arc-shaped aperture gate control electrode 9, in which many small holes are drilled, is electrically opened or closed to control the passing of ion flow, the passed ions are attracted to the opposite electrode 10 by the Coulomb force. The flight direction of charged ink drops is changed by the deflecting electrode 11 to let the ink drop fall into the ink gutter 12, uncharged ink drops travel straight and reach the recording medium 13. The electrode is kept free of trouble due to wetness and even the insulated ink can easily be charged. |
