PURPOSE:To enable one-side welding to be readily accomplished without using back shielding gas by packing the flux containing one or more kinds of TiO2, metal fluorides and metal carbonates into the wire formed by a stainless steel case, at the specific weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:The flux containing one or more kinds of TiO2, metal fluorides and metal carbonates at total 85% or less and 30% or more of at least one kinds of these is packed at 5-25% based on the weight of the wire into the wire formed in a stainless steel case of Cr and Cr-Ni base or the like. When this filler rod is used, the filler rod is melted by arc heat at the time of TIG welding and the weld metal forms back beads. At the same time, the slag produced at that time encloses the back beads thereby preventing the oxidation by the atmospheric air. Hence, even if back shielding gas is not used, it becomes possible to obtain the sound back beads. |
