A wire stripping tool comprises arms 6, 7 providing a pair of end parts mounted within an enclosure member 1 and normally urged away from each other into contact with resilient tongue parts 2, 3 each end part having at least one tooth edge part 9a, 9b. Each arm may have a cutting member 6b, 7b aligned with apertures 8. Each tooth set is of different size for different wires. Mating flats 10, 11, prevent overriding. Handle parts 1a, 1b may be metal or plastics. A stop member (12) (Figs. 7, 8 not shown) may be mounted on a shaft (13) longitudinally slidable against a frictional resistance and a pointer (19) (also Figs. 5, 6, not shown) visible against a scale (21) indicating wire length to be stripped.
